[ Spanish Test ] The city of Madrid, in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, has a continental climate, with clear skies almost guaranteed and summer temperatures of around 30° C. Not everyone that lives in Madrid was born here. It is also home to many people from other regions of Spain and other countries, and has a well-deserved reputation as a welcoming, friendly city, where no one is made to fell a stranger. 
The capital of Spain has enormous cultural possibilities, as well being easily accessible for visitors. Without a doubt, our first stop must be the Prado Museum, considered one of the finest galleries in the work, housing the major works by Velázquez, Goya, El Greco and Murillo, among many other artistic geniuses. Not far from the Prado Museum, we come to the Retiro, one of the most popular parks in Madrid. At weekends it fills with families out for a stroll, as well as the many musicians, painters, fortune tellers and jugglers who entertain the crowds. 
Another outstanding building in the capital is the Royal Palace, the official residence of His Majesty the King of Spain, who uses it for state ceremonies, though he doesn't reside there. The school Location The school is in Soto de Viñuelas, a pleasant residential area in the north of Madrid, with excellent transport links to the city centre. The modern facilities occupy some 5 hectares, where the open spaces and fresh air provide the ideal environment for the physical development and academic progress of our students. King's College also boasts sports facilities of the very highest level: two swimming pools (children's and half Olympic), riding school, rock-climbing area, obstacle course, children's playground, football and five-a-side pitches, tennis court, basketball court, as well as spacious classrooms for Spanish classes. All of this surrounded by the Upper Manzanares Basin Regional Park and views to the Guadarrama Mountains. |
